AppGrinder is ShareWare. Under the terms of the ShareWare agreement, you may copy and distribute AppGrinder freely, as long as you include all original, unmodified documentation and an unmodified copy of the AppGrinder program. You may use AppGrinder at no charge on a trial basis. If you continue to use this product, you must pay a $5 ShareWare registration fee to Universal Solutions. The extensions are part of the 7.5.3 Update, available on fine FTP sites everywhere. They are relatively conflict free and don't take up a lot of ram.
AppGrinder was developed on a Power Macintosh 6100/60 and a Performa 5200CD. It was also tested on a Radius 8100/110 and a Power Macintosh 7200/70. The ‘040 version was tested on a Macintosh IIci, and a Quadra 840av.
AppGrinder requires the finder scripting extension to be in your extensions folder. It is (as far as we can tell) compatible with System 7.5.3. AppGrinder may or may not run with earlier versions of the system.
Known Bugs
If AppGrinder has trouble launching some applications, you may need to rebuild you Desktop Database file (if is is out of date or corrupted). To do this, hold down option and command as soon as the Finder starts coming up after a reboot. Keep these keys down until a dialog appears saying “Rebuild Desktop File?” Choose yes. This may fix your problems.
